The “Nalaga’at” Center was founded on the basic belief that every human being has the right to contribute to the society he lives in.
The deaf and blind community in Israel supports and is active with the Nalaga’at Center in Jaffa. They offer a “blind” dining experience in a pitch black restaurant with blind waiters at Blackout. A similar cafe experience is offered by deaf waiters communicating in sign language at the Cafe Kapish. According to the website the center “currently employs about 70, most of whom are deaf, blind or deaf-blind.
